DNA/RNA Quality Check

 

Quality control of DNA and RNA samples is available using the following options:

  • Qubit 2.0 Fluorometer - Sample concentration
  • Agilent BioAnalyzer 2100 - Fragment sizes and concentrations
  • Biotek Synergy HT - High-throughput sample concentrations
  • Caliper LabChip GX - High-throughput fragment sizes and concentrations
  • FEMTO Pulse Automated Pulsed-Field Capillary Electrophoresis System - High-throughput Large fragment sizes and concentrations

For any of these services, please provide at least 3 ┬Ál of sample in labelled 1.0 ml microfuge tubes. Samples should be accompanied by a Sample Submission Form.

 

Qubit 2.0 Fluorometer

 

  The Qubit 2.0 fluorometer uses fluorescent dyes that emit signals only when bound to the specific target molecules (DNA or RNA) even in the presence of free nucleotides, degraded nucleic acids or protein contaminants. The Qubit 2.0 Fluorometer provides results with unprecedented accuracy, sensitivity, and simplicity.

Agilent BioAnalyzer 2100

 

  The Agilent 2100 BioAnalyzer provides sizing, quantification and quality control of DNA, RNA and proteins by miniaturized Lab-on-a-Chip electrophoresis. All results are available as digital data. The platform is the industry standard for RNA sample and NGS library QC and has mostly replaced labor-intensive gel electrophoresis.

Biotek Synergy HT

 

  The BioTek Synergy HT Multi-Mode Microplate Reader is a versatile plate reader. It is able to read fluorescence, absorbance, and luminescence on 6 to 384 well microplates. Absorbance can be read at 340, 405, 562, 590, 600 and 620 nm wavelengths. Luminescence readings use a Photomultiplier Tube (PMT). The readings are detected from the top of the plate. It should be noted we do not have injectors on the Synergy. Please be sure to use plates suitable for luminescence assays.

Caliper LabChip GX

 

Caliper GX instrument  The LabChip GX by Caliper is a high-throughput platform for quality control of RNA and DNA, capable of processing up to 384 samples in a single run. The output for the LabChip GX is similar to that of Agilent's BioAnalyzer.
